Great Expectations (1998) 
Charles Dickens’ novel brought to life by Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hank Azaria, Anne Bancroft and Robert DeNiro. Originally the producers wanted to use the Powel Crosley Estate, but its rehabilitation had already begun. Finnegan’s home was in Cortez.

Palmetto (1998) 
Woody Harrelson and Elisabeth Shue steam up the screen in this Neo-Noir thriller, aptly named after one of the locales in which it was filmed.

Out of Time (2003) 
A crime/drama shot in Cortez featuring Denzel Washington, Eva Mendes and Dean Cain. (9 award nominations and 3 wins)

Second Chance (2008)
Shinedown, Atlantic Records recording group, filmed “Second Chance” on Anna Maria Island and around Cortez Fishing Village.

Workers’ Comp (2011)
Still in production.  Starring Morgan Fairchild, David Proval and Robert Carradine, filmed at Pinnacle Park in Bradenton.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (2011) 
Food Network’s Guy Fieri filmed this  “Southern Flavor” episode at Jose’s Real Cuban Food in Bradenton.

Breaking Up with Rosie (2012) 
A 2DB Productions feature, “Breaking Up with Rosie” was filmed in Sarasota. In the movie, a recently divorced romance novelist schemes to keep his success a secret so he doesn’t have to share his earnings with his ex-wife.
